What’s new on SEO

What’s new on SEO

Google Penguin and SEO This month I was working hard in new tools, pages or even websites for developing strategies in SEO. Google started a new era where you were not only responsible of your website, but also by the ones that link to you. Obviously, I can’t agree with this attitude. First because it could be a boomerang used by your competitors, and second because in the international law, you’re responsible of your acts, not the ones that develops people that you even don’t know.   Dangers with Penguin Like I told you in the previous post, I had a site banned just because a friend of mine linked one of my websites related to safaris in Africa. When I talked to my friend, our common sensation was that he had a nuclear weapon in his SEO arsenal. What would happen if my friend uses his website for linking his or my competence? In a simple rule we can guess they would be banned, and my friend, like in my case, won’t be harmed at all. Is this a good strategy for Google? I think it isn’t. Yes, there a re a lot of people /webmasters / SEOs that don’t apply for their rules, but it’s also true that if someone buys a link is because there are persons that sell links.   How to avoid this crazy wave It would be very simple for Google. If they detect there are “unnatural” links, just with give no weight to those links nor PR the matter would be cleared. None will buy links without juice, links without PR, links...

Let’s analyze it.   Page Rank and Google SERPs Pagerank is, like everyone knows, a number invented by Larry Page that represents an algorithm and that is used by Google for getting the SERPs with 200+ items. In this sense, it could be understood like a substitute for the magic formula used by Google, but this consideration is far long from reality. Page Rank just show the power of the inbound links that a page, and not a domain, has. This is just what it is, this is just what we can use. Too much or just a few? Well, sometimes you’ll need it. We work on keywords like zapatos para todos where it’s needed. That’s what we have to judge.

Why ROI is important in Online Marketing

Why ROI is important in Online Marketing

Last weeks I’ve been testing some strategies, tools and methodologies about Online Marketing and, specially, the influence of Social Media in SEO. When developing them, I’ve been talking and observing other Digital Marketing Consultants, SEO experts, usual people, Klout fans and lots of individuals how do they act, how do they work and what are their goals. Let’s talk about them.   SEO and Social Media: Are they friends? The answer is that depends on. On what? The social media and our efforts in Online Marketing. It’s a fact that Google+ (you can see here Abel Pardo in G+) will help you to reach a better position in SERPs and facebook, step by step, is being put out of the game. I’ve seen a lot of people running like devils to Google+, publishing tons of material and waiting for the Google juice, abandon at the same time their activties in Facebook. Is this a right decision? At the end, the question is not what’s the best for SEO, but what’s the best for you, your company and your clients. Is Online Marketing like a desert where SEPs are the water? Google+ vs facebook? Results vs fame can be the solution for a web marketing consultant. Maybe Google+ is better for ranking, but at the end, what you want is just fame or money. If you want money, if you want to give good service and content to your clients, you have to be where your customers are. Do you receive a high quantity of qualified traffic from Facebook? Do you believe that organic traffic is not as big as...
Link building with Google Penguin

Link building with Google Penguin

Google Panda, Google Penguin. What’s the difference? The first one I have appreciated is the weight of Google +1. Some of the post I’ve written are highly positioned that another ones just because these ones have more +1 clicks. Is this a Google tactic for promoting its Google+ social network? My answer is yes, and in this sense, I guess they will continue doing the same policy and even more.   Link building with Penguin I has been said that Penguin will penalise your web pages when you will promote one anchor text and will forget to add things like “see more here”. That could be wrong, that could be right. The truth is that SEO efforts must concentrate in your main keywords and, it could sound like a joke to believe that someone with a high Page Rank is going to link you because of your content.   Anchor texts in SEO How many of your links “appeared” because of art of magic? How many of your links have been worked by you, asked for them, gained making comments or as invited blogger? “Natural” link building doesn’t exist, and high ranked companies in Google would have a lot of difficulties for explaining their white hat link building system, but it doesn’t matters for Google.   Solutions for Link Building Google will continue basing its strategy in links: quality and quantity. If you try to develop a strategy based in content, simply you’re dead at the bottom of Google. I’ve postioned a web page in the #1 Ranking in Google for a keyword without the keyword in title, without...
